Extension of Empanelment
- All hospital list and Diagnostic Centers under the West Bengal Health Scheme has been extended multiple times, with the latest extension valid until March 31, 2023.
- After careful consideration, the Governor has approved a further extension up to March 31, 2027.
- This extension is based on existing terms and conditions, as referenced in Notification No. 4803-F(MED) dated September 12, 2014, and 5069-F(MED) dated September 26, 2014.
Conditions for Continued Empanelment
- To maintain their status on the West Bengal Health Scheme hospital list, the Health Care Organizations and Diagnostic Centers must complete their renewal process within six months.
- This involves signing the new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) as published in the Finance Department’s Notification No. 141-F(MED)WB dated February 15, 2017.
- Compliance with this renewal process is mandatory for continued empanelment and to ensure uninterrupted services to the beneficiaries.
Validity of the Order
- The new empanelment order is effective from April 1, 2023, and will remain valid for four years, until March 31, 2027, unless modified or revoked earlier.

Notification
The empanelment of the following private Health Care Organizations/ Diagnostic Center(s) under the West Bengal Health Scheme were renewed /extended up to 31.03.2023 from time to time.
After careful consideration, the Governor is pleased to extend the empanelment period of the following Health
Care Organizations /Diagnostic Centers up to 31/03/2027 on existing terms and conditions read with Notification No. 4803- F(MED) Dated 12/09/2014 & 5069-F(MED) Dated 26/09/2014 so that the beneficiaries under the West Bengal Health Scheme may get services there uninterruptedly.
However , the Health Care Organizations/ Diagnostic Centers will have to complete their renewal process within 6 (six) months positively under the West Bengal Health Scheme by signing the New MOA published vide Finance Department’s Notification No. 141-F(MED)WB Dated 15/02/2017 to continue their empanelment.
This order shall be valid w.e.f. 01/04/2023 for four (4) years i.e. up to 31/03/2027 or they are modified or revoked whichever is earlier.

Who are dependents in WBHS?
The employee/pensioner enrolled under WBHS, can include their dependent parents, son (without permanent disability up to the age of 25 years), son (with permanent disability irrespective of age), unmarried/widow/divorced daughter, unmarried/widow/divorced sister and minor brother up to the age of 18 years as dependent beneficiary subject to compliance of income and others eligibility criteria as per Notification No. 7287-F dated 19.09.2008 read with Nos. 6722-F dated 09.07.2009 and 10531-F(MED) dated 10.11.2010. Revision of maximum income ceiling and other eligible criteria were under active consideration for some time past.
What is the coverage of West Bengal Health Scheme?
- The initial cashless limit for IPD treatment under the West Bengal Health Scheme (WBHS) was set at Rs. 1,50,000/-. This limit was established as per Finance Department Notification No.73-F(MED) dated 28.04.2022.
- The new cashless limit for IPD treatment under the West Bengal Health Scheme is Rs. 2,00,000/-, as per the recent decision by the Governor.
- This represents an increase of Rs. 50,000/- from the previous limit of Rs. 1,50,000/-
