Assessment of Health Care Organizations by H&FW Department

  • The H&FW Department, Government of West Bengal has assessed several private Two Health Care Organizations (HCOs) as service providers.
  • The assessment was based on the facilities available in the HCOs for rendering medical attendance and treatment to the State Government employees, pensioners, and their eligible beneficiaries.
  • The assessment was conducted under the West Bengal Health for all employees and Pensioners Cashless Medical Treatment Scheme, 2014.

MOA with the Government of West Bengal

  • The assessed HCOs have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Government of West Bengal.
  • The purpose of the MoA is to provide medical attendance and treatment to the State Government employees, pensioners, and their eligible beneficiaries under the Cashless Medical Treatment Scheme.
  • The MoA is valid for a period up to 31/03/2027, or until it is modified or revoked, whichever is earlier from the date of the notification.

Empanelment of Two Health Care Organizations

  • The Governor is pleased to recognize and enlist the following HCOs in Annexure-A of Finance Department Notification No. 3473-F, Dated-11′”May, 2009.
  • The recognition is based on the MoA under the West Bengal Health for all employees and Pensioners Cashless Medical Treatment Scheme, 2014.

 Importance of Empanelment

  • The empanelment of these two health care organizations is a significant step towards providing quality medical care to the State Government employees, pensioners, and their eligible beneficiaries.
  • The empanelment ensures that the two health care organizations meet the required standards of medical care and facilities.
  • The Cashless Medical Treatment Scheme provides financial assistance to the beneficiaries, reducing their burden of medical expenses.

Notification

The following private Health Care Organizations have been assessed by the H&FW Department ,Govt of W.B as Service Providers on the basis of the facilities available there for rendering medical attendance & treatment to the State Government employees/ pensioners and their eligible beneficiaries under the West Bengal Health for all employees and Pensioners Cashless Medical Treatment Scheme,2014. The Health Care Organizations have inked the Memorandum of Agreement with the Government of West Bengal for this purpose for a period up to 31/03/2027 or they are modified or revoked whichever is earlier from the date of the notification.

Now, the Governor is pleased to recognize for empanelment of the following Health Care Organizations on the basis of the M.O.A under the West Bengal Health for all employees and Pensioners Cashless Medical Treatment Scheme,2014 and enlist the same in Annexure-A of Finance Department Notification No. 3473-F, Dated-11′”May, 2009 :-

FAQ

Which medicines are not reimbursable under WBHS?

Costs of medicines are reimbursable in full except preparations classified as food, tonic, vitamin, disinfectant, toiletry, cosmetic items and telephone charges. 

Who is eligible for West Bengal Health Scheme (WBHS)?

West Bengal State Government employees, pensioners and their families.

Who are dependents in WBHS?

The employee/pensioner enrolled under WBHS, can include their dependent parents, son (without permanent disability up to the age of 25 years), son (with permanent disability irrespective of age), unmarried/widow/divorced daughter, unmarried/widow/divorced sister and minor brother up to the age of 18 years as dependent beneficiary subject to compliance of income and others eligibility criteria as per Notification No. 7287-F dated 19.09.2008 read with Nos. 6722-F dated 09.07.2009 and 10531-F(MED) dated 10.11.2010. Revision of maximum income ceiling and other eligible criteria were under active consideration for some time past.
