Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Overview
The Swami Vivekananda Scholarship, managed by the Higher Education Department of West Bengal, aims to support economically weaker students in the state.
Eligibility and Benefits:
Undergraduate Students:
- Fields: Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Medical, Technical/Professional courses.
- Benefits: Financial support for students whose family income does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000 per annum.
Postgraduate Students:
- Fields: Science, Arts, Commerce, Technical/Management.
- Benefits: Financial aid is provided under the Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme.
Updated Scholarship Details (Effective 2016):
- New Courses Covered:
- Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences (B.V.Sc) and Master of Veterinary Sciences (M.V.Sc).
- Students at the West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences.
- Rate Enhancements:
- Scholarship amount for B.V.Sc students increased from Rs. 1500 to Rs. 5000 per month.
- Duration: Four and a half years for B.V.Sc and two years for M.V.Sc.
- The enhanced rate is now equivalent to that provided to medical students.
- Eligibility for Increased Scholarship:
- Students must not receive any other stipend or remuneration.
Application Criteria:
- Income Limit: Annual family income must not exceed Rs. 2,50,000 (excluding K3 applicants).
- Domicile: Must be a resident of West Bengal.
- Academic Performance:
- Undergraduate Applicants: Minimum 60% in the last qualifying examination; no year gaps.
- Postgraduate Applicants: Minimum 53% in Honours subjects (General Education), 55% in Engineering courses; no year gaps.
- K3 Applicants: Minimum 45% at the Graduation level in Science/Arts/Commerce with no year gaps.

- Applicant must follow the password policy while entering the password.

- Password must contain a lowercase alphabet
