West Bengal Government schemes: Category-Wise

1. Women And Child Development Schemes In West Bengal

1	Rupashree Prakalpa	The Rupashree Prakalpa Scheme is a social welfare scheme launched by the Government of West Bengal, in 2018. The scheme aims to provide one-time financial assistance to economically disadvantaged families for the marriage of their daughters.
2	Lakshmir Bhandar	Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme launched by the West Bengal Government in February 2021, to provide financial assistance of Rs.1000/- (other than SC,ST) and Rs. 1200/- (SC,ST) to women from economically weaker sections of society.
3	Widow Pension Scheme	In 2010, the West Bengal state government, through the Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department, launched the “Widow Pension” scheme. This program aims to provide Rs.1000/- financial support to widows facing economic hardship within the state.
4	Kanyashree Prakalpa	Annual scholarships: Girls who are studying in classes 8 to 12 in government-aided or recognized schools can apply for a yearly scholarship of Rs. 750. performance. One-time grants: Girls who have completed 18 years of age and are unmarried can apply for a one-time grant of Rs. 25,000.

2. West Bengal Government Schemes For Entrepreneurship and Business

1	Gatidhara Scheme	Subsidy @ 30% of the ex-showroom price of the vehicle subject to a maximum of ₹1,00,000/- will be provided to the beneficiary for purchasing any commercial vehicle.
2	Banglashree	The object of the Scheme is to extend fiscal incentives to encourage entrepreneurs to set up Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises with a view to focusing on balanced development of MSMEs across West Bengal.
3	Artisans Financial Benefit Scheme	The objective of the scheme is to provide systematic financial support for tools, equipment, Workshed and other fixed assets to a group of at least 10 artisans coming under an industrial cooperative society. ₹3,00,0000/- for tools/equipment. ₹7,00,0000/- for Work Shed and other fixed assets.
4	Textile Incentive Scheme: Waiver of Electricity Duty	100% waiver of electricity duty for 5 years from the date of commencement of production subject to a maximum of ₹1,00,00,000/- per year.

3. West Bengal Government Schemes For Empowerment And Social Welfare

1	Jai Johar (Old Age Pension) Scheme	Launched on 1st April 2020, “Jai Johar (Old Age Pension)” is a Social Security Scheme by the Tribal Development Department, Government of West Bengal. The scheme is aimed at the Scheduled Tribe (ST) residents of West Bengal. A monthly pension of ₹1,000/- is transferred directly to the individual bank account of the beneficiary.
2	Migrant Workers’ Welfare Scheme	One-time assistance is provided to the registered Migrant Worker in case of disability arising out of accidents during work. ₹ 50,000/- in case of 40% to 80 % disability. ₹ 1,00,000/- in case of more than 80% disability.
3	Samajik Mukti	The government issued ‘Samajik Mukti’ (Social Freedom) cards to unorganised sector workers of west bengal for Provident Fund & Other Social Benefit scheme. The name of this card is Samajik Mukti card. i. Provident Fund is given to the unorganised worker. ii. Compensation in case of death or disability during work. iii. Financial assistance to the children of beneficiaries who pursue higher studies. iv. The department also provides health treatment facilities to the unorganised workers.
4	NIJASHAREE HOUSING SCHEME	i. Under this scheme, a `Basha’ (house) will be allotted to all the people belonging to the Lower Income Group (LIG) and the Middle Income Group (MIG) by lottery on ownership basis. ii. Credit-linked subsidies to the eligible beneficiaries will be facilitated by the Housing Department, as per the existing scheme.
5	State Welfare Scheme For Purohits	i. Monthly Financial Assistance for all the poor Purohits and poor priests of other communities like Christians, Jains, Buddhists & Parsis of ₹1,000/– per month. ii. A grant of ₹1,20,000/- will be provided to each poor Purohit/poor priest of other communities like Christians/ Jains/ Buddhists / Parsis for the construction of a dwelling house.
6	Toposili Bandhu (Old Age Pension) Scheme	The main objective of the scheme to provide the financial assistance to old age person who are belongs to the scheduled caste category of West Bengal State. Pension : ₹1,000/- per month.
7	Manabik Scheme	“Manabik” Scheme was launched by the Department of Women & Child Development and Social Welfare, Government of West Bengal. This scheme is designed to provide financial support to individuals who are unable to work due to a disability. Pensioner will be supported by ₹1,000/- per Month.
8	Sishu Sathi	Sishu Sathi scheme is a brainchild of the Chief Minister of West Bengal with a promise to provide free treatment to children who need heart surgeries, irrespective of how rich or poor the parents are.
9	Sabooj Sathi	The Sabooj Sathi Scheme is a student welfare initiative launched by the government of West Bengal, India, to provide bicycles to students in the state.

4. West Bengal Government Schemes For Agriculture, Environment & Rural Live hood

1	Krishak Bandhu Scheme	The scheme “Krishak Bandhu Scheme” is a flagship scheme of the government of West Bengal and was launched by the Department of Agriculture in 2019. i. An assured sum of ₹10,000/- per acre per year will be given to the farmers who have 1 acre or more cultivable land. ii. An assured sum of ₹4,000/- per acre per year will be given to the farmers who have less than 1 acre of cultivable land. iii. In the event of the death of a farmer/recorded Bhagchasi (Sharecropper) in the age group of 18 – 60 years, the legal heirs of the deceased will be eligible for a one-time grant of ₹2,00,000/-(Rupees Two Lakh) only.
2	Amar Fasal Amar Gola	The “Amar Fasal Amar Gola” scheme in West Bengal is aimed at providing financial assistance to farmers to help them purchase seeds, fertilizers, and other inputs needed for agriculture.
3	Financial Support Scheme for Farm Mechanization (FSSM)	Financial Support Scheme for Farm Mechanization (FSSM)” under the Farm Mechanization Umbrella Scheme, was launched on 5″ December 2012 by the Agriculture Department, Government of West Bengal for extending financial support as subsidy to the small and marginal farmers of the State. Subsidy ranging from 50-60% of the indicative price of machinery subject to maximum ceiling of ₹3,00,000/- will be provided to the beneficiary.

5. West Bengal Government Schemes For Education

1	West Bengal Student Credit Card	This scheme is designed to support the students to pursue secondary, higher secondary, madrasah, undergraduate and post graduate studies including professional degree and other equivalent courses in any School, Madrasah, College, University and other affiliated institutes within and outside India. The Scheme provides a maximum loan of ₹10,00,000/- at a 4% simple annual interest rate after interest subvention.
2	Shikshashree Scheme	The scheme “Shikshashree Scheme” was implemented by the Government of West Bengal during 2014-15 by merging the existing schemes of Book Grants & Maintenance Grants to provide financial assistance to Schedule Caste students studying in classes V to VIII. Class V- ₹750/- Class VI- ₹750/- Class VII- ₹750/- Class VIII- ₹800/-
3	Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship	The scheme benefits students studying at under Graduate level in Science/Arts/Commerce, Engineering, Medical and Technical / Professional courses, Post Graduate level students pursuing Science/Arts/Commerce & Technical/Management. Financial Assistance Amount: UG(Art) – ₹ 1000/- UG(Commerce) – ₹ 1000/- UG (Science) – ₹ 1500/- UG (Other Professional Courses, Ugc Approved) – ₹ 1500/- PG (Arts) – ₹ 2000/- PG (Commerce) – ₹ 2000/- PG (Science) – ₹ 2500/- PG (Other Professional Courses, Ugc Approved) – ₹ 2500/- Non NET M.Phil./Non NET Ph.D. ₹ 5000/- / ₹ 8000/- respectively HS – ₹ 1000/- D.El.Ed – ₹ 1000/- UG (Engg.), PG (Engg.) And Other Professional Courses (AICTE Approved) ₹ 5000/- Polytechnic (Diploma Courses) – ₹ 1500/- UG (Medical-Degree) And Diploma Courses – ₹ 5000/- and ₹ 1500/- respectively.

6. West Bengal Government Schemes On Housing Sector

1	Pratyasha Scheme	The Govt. of West Bengal has undertaken a housing project scheme named ” PRATYASHA” for Police Personnel (from Inspectors to Constables) working in the West Bengal Police to materialize their dreams of owning houses. i. Flats will be allotted to the applicants through a lottery on a random selection basis. ii. Unallotted flats, if any, after the lottery, will be allotted to the eligible allottees on a “first come first served” basis or through lottery on a random selection basis
2	Akanksha Housing Scheme	Akanksha Housing Scheme was launched by the Housing Department, Government of West Bengal on 28/02/2014 to provide housing to the serving State Government employees.
3	GITANJALI HOUSING SCHEME	The Benefits of the scheme are to provide proper shelter to the economically weaker section of society as well as to create additional employment opportunities for construction workers etc.

7. West Bengal Government Schemes For Employment & Skill

1	Karma Sathi Prakalpa	Under the scheme, the state government has set a target of providing loans to one lakh youths every year. i. Each beneficiary can avail of a loan of up to ₹2,00,000/- under the scheme. Apart from loans ii. The state government will also provide subsidies for taking up new projects.
2	Yuvasree Prakalpa	The objective of the scheme is to provide unemployment assistance to the enrolled jobseekers of the Employment Bank to enable them to upgrade their level of skill in order to make them employable or suitable for setting up of self-employment ventures i. Subject to fulfillment of the aforesaid eligibility criteria an individual may receive unemployment assistance under the scheme ₹ 1500/- per month.

8. West Bengal Government Schemes On Sports

1	Lokprasar Prakalpo Scheme	i. Under the scheme, the veteran and distressed folk-artistes who are above 60 years of age will get a monthly pension of ₹1000/-. ii. The enlisted folk artists under the age of 60 years, who are engaged in publicity campaigns in different departments, have been receiving ₹1000/- per month as a retainer fee.
