Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY):

Overview: Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) was launched on May 1, 2016, by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The scheme aims to provide clean cooking fuel, such as LPG, to rural and deprived households.

Benefits:

  • Cash Assistance: ₹1,600 for a 14.2kg cylinder or ₹1,150 for a 5kg cylinder.
  • Coverage:
    • Security deposit for cylinder: ₹1,250 (14.2kg) / ₹800 (5kg)
    • Pressure regulator: ₹150
    • LPG hose: ₹100
    • Domestic Gas Consumer Card: ₹25
    • Inspection/Installation/Demonstration: ₹75
  • Additional Benefits: First LPG refill and stove are provided free of cost by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).

Eligibility:

  • Adult women from the following categories:
    • SC/ST Households
    • Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin)
    • Most Backward Classes
    • Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY)
    • Tea and Ex-Tea Garden tribes
    • Forest Dwellers
    • People on Islands/River Islands
    • SECC Households (AHL TIN)
    • Poor Households (14-point declaration)
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • No existing LPG connection in the household.

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP):

Eligibility:

  • Family must have a girl child below 10 years of age.
  • Sukanya Samriddhi Account (SSA) must be opened in the girl child’s name.

Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram:

Overview: A healthcare scheme by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) providing free and cashless services to pregnant women and sick infants up to one year in government health facilities.
