Centralized Online Admission for Undergraduate Courses in West Bengal (2024-2025)

The Government of West Bengal has introduced a Centralized Online Admission System for undergraduate courses in 461 Government and Government-aided General Degree Colleges and Higher Education Institutions, including Universities, for the academic session 2024-2025.

Objectives of the Online Admission System

  • To streamline the process for students to select their preferred course and institution through a single platform.
  • To prevent multiple admissions by a single student at various institutions, ensuring efficient use of available seats.

Application Process

  • Eligibility: Indian students who have completed (10+2) or an equivalent examination from any recognized Board or Council within India are eligible to apply.
  • Application Fee: No application fee is required.

Guidelines for the Online Admission Process

  • Applicants can apply to a maximum of 25 programs/courses across multiple institutions.
  • Free assistance for filling out the application form is available at ‘Bangla Sahayata Kendras.’
  • The admission process is merit-based.
  • No physical counseling or document verification is required; the entire process is online.
  • There are no charges for scanning or uploading documents via ‘Bangla Sahayata Kendras.’
  • Notifications will be sent via SMS and email, and applicants can track their status through their dashboard.
  • Fee payment for admission should be completed only through the centralized portal.

Institutions Excluded from Centralized Online Admission

The following institutions and programs are not included in the Centralized Online Admission System:

  • Presidency University
  • Jadavpur University
  • Autonomous Colleges
  • Minority Educational Institutions/Colleges
  • Training Colleges
  • Law Colleges
  • Institutions offering Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Crafts, Dance, Music
  • Colleges offering Engineering, Pharmacy, Nursing, or Medical courses
  • Self-financing/Private Colleges

Special Instructions for Open University/Training Institutes

  • Netaji Subhas Open University: Adheres to the Open Distance Learning guidelines, similar to the previous year.
  • Teachers’ Training Courses: This advisory does not apply to B.Ed, B.P.Ed, M.Ed, or M.P.Ed courses. A separate notification will be issued for these programs.
